I have had multiple bad experiences with rude, clueless employees at this store but yesterday was the last straw. I needed a replacement cord for a dishwasher and brought in the old cord to show exactly what I needed. The first person who helped me sold me an appliance extension cord instead of a replacement cord. He took the bad cord that needed to be replaced from me so he could measure it, so it was obvious that one end had wires sticking out-a clear sign it was not an extension cord.
After getting all the way home with the wrong item, I took it back to the store and again brought in the old cord to show them what I needed to replace. This time the store manager brought me a different cord. I got home and realized it was wrong again - he had sold me a cord that didn't plug in flush to the wall.
Good prices. Great service! Best hardware in the mountains!
I drove back to the store again and complained that I had twice brought in an example of what I needed and was given the wrong item. The woman at the counter said, “Well, then maybe we don’t have what you need.” I said, “That’s fine, but don’t sell me the wrong thing. I should have gone to Home Depot.” She said, “I think that’s a good idea next time.” I don’t get angry easily, but her attitude made me livid. I used an obscenity – something I don’t think I have ever done in a store – and walked out. The manager who gave me the wrong cord stood in the background and did nothing.
Easy to get to, close to our place, usually has everything we need, people are nice.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Unless you like overpriced items and rude employees, drive the extra 15 minutes to Home Depot (skip Big R-they also have rude employees).
My husband called the store manager to complain about how I had been treated. The manager said, “Why did you send your wife?”
Prices are a bit high. As for the employees, most of them are awesome. There's just this one older lady who is rude beyond belief 90% of the time.
Honest and friendly people to do business with. Mostly older professionals to help with whatever your needs may be. Smart and humble enough to ask other professionals for assistance if the question or project you are working on needs help or clarification. This is the place to go!
Are you kidding me? Can you be more sexist? In addition, the store manager put other employees on the phone to deny what happened, and never once apologized that I had had a bad experience.
As for the other employees, polite and extremely helpful. I couldn't have built my house without them!
I wish I could say I support the small, local business but I will never go back to this store.
